Dress Code

  • All Classes

Hair will need to be in a bun for ballet and should be pulled away from face and off the neck for all other dance classes. No jewelry should be worn with the exception of small stud earrings that cannot be removed. Warm-ups and layers are appropriate for the beginning of class. No clothing featuring profanity or obscene images.

  • Hip Hop

Comfortable clothing that you can move in. No jeans, no skirts, no boots, no flip flops, no elevated shoes of any sort. Baggy clothing is acceptable. Pants below the knee are suggested. Hip Hop students will need to purchase our hip hop sneakers from the studio.

  • Twirl Tots, Teeny Ballet & Hippity Hop

Students may wear any comfortable dance attire they can easily move in. No pants or skirts that drag on the floor and no jeans. Twirl tots and teeny ballet students will need leather full-sole ballet shoes. Hippity Hop students will need slip-on jazz shoes. Shoes should match your dancer’s skin tone - no ballet pink. Adults participating in twirl tots should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to move! Adults will need to be in dance shoes, bare feet, or socks.

  • Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, TLC

Leotard (any color) and pink/black/skin-tone tights (skirts/shorts optional), OR any form fitting top with form fitting shorts or leggings. No clothing may be worn to obstruct the view of the body (i.e. baggy shirts/pants). All students should wear appropriate supportive undergarments.

Ballet: Students will need canvas split-sole ballet shoes that match their skin tone.

Lyrical: Students will need half-sole “turner” style shoes that match their skin tone.

Jazz: Students will need slip-on leather split-sole jazz shoes. For performance, these may need to be either skin tone or black, depending on costuming.

    Contemporary: Bare feet.

TLC: Any shoe or bare feet.

All clothes and shoes can be ordered from the Revolution Storefront

  • Adult Classes

Adults are encouraged to wear clothing that allows for comfortable movement. Workout clothes with supportive undergarments are often a good choice. Form-fitting bottoms such as leggings, yoga pants, bike shorts, or tights (with a leotard or bike shorts) allow instructors to more easily see your lines. Shoes should correspond to the style of dance being taken.
